dembrane is a transcription, analysis (sense-making) and reporting platform built for in-person, multilingual conversations. It's a complete solution for real-world stakeholder-engagement scenarios where reliability and ease of use matter. dembrane started under a "move fast and break things" philosophy while serving early partners. To better serve the public, we're moving to a privacy-first and security-first approach.

Chat with your Data |
There are many transcription tools. dembrane is built for one job and does it well:
- Hybrid conversation transcription at scale — events, async feedback collection, breakout rooms
- Multilingual support across many languages
- Real-time processing and analysis
- Chat and reporting powered by language models, including an agentic chat that explores your data and cites where it found things
- An interface designed for accessibility and ease of use
It's a complete solution for handling transcription in real-world settings where reliability and ease of use matter.
The platform is actively maintained by Dembrane B.V. (dembrane.com) and is open to community contributions. We're committed to growing this codebase with the public-sector community.
- Privacy and security: the current implementation was not initially built with privacy-by-design or security-by-design principles. We're actively improving this and welcome contributions (PRs) in these areas.
- Design philosophy: the initial version prioritized rapid development and real-world testing. The architecture co-locates many functions for AI-first development.
