Test Environment:
OS: Windows 11 Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.8390)
Browsers: Edge (Version 148.0.3967.70), Chrome (Version 148.0.7778.168)
Screen Reader: NVDA (2026.1), JAWS (2026.2603.86), Narrator

Pre-Requisite:

1. Turn on Screen Readers:
   NVDA: Ctrl + Alt + N
   JAWS: Ctrl + Alt + J
   Narrator: Ctrl + win + Enter
2. Verbosity:
   NVDA: Default
   JAWS: Beginner, Highest
   Narrator: Default

User Impact:
Screen reader users will be impacted because the zoom level changes are not announced when they use the Zoom in, zoom out, or Reset zoom buttons. As a result, they won’t know the current zoom percentage, which can make it harder to understand the page view and navigate effectively.

Actual Result:
Screen reader does not announce zoom percentage information after activating 'Zoom in', 'Zoom out', and 'Reset zoom' icon button in windows.
Screen readers remain silent

Expected Result:
Screen reader should announce the updated zoom percentage information after activating 'Zoom in', 'Zoom out' and 'Reset zoom' icon controls (e.g., “Zoomed to 150%” or “Reset to 100%”) present inside the 'Area Chart Basic' section in main page.

Reproduction steps

1. Open the URL: https://storybooks.fluentui.dev/react/?path=/docs/charts_charts-areachart--docs in edge/chrome browser.
2. Area Chart page will appear.
3. Press tab key to reach to the 'Zoom in', 'Zoom out', and 'Reset zoom' control present under 'Area Chart Basic' section.
4. verify whether screen reader announce zoom percentage information after activating 'Zoom in', 'Zoom out', and 'Reset zoom' icon button in windows or not.

I feel this one is likely still valid in Storybook 10.4. From memory, we don't announce the zoom value yet. But please, if you can spare the time, I'd love to get confirmation on 10.4.

For anyone wanting to take this on: please chat with me first about what kind of ARIA labels we want to add and where. This bug is likely to exist where reported and possibly also in the zoom tool in the toolbar. Implementation between both should feel coherent to screen reader users.
